A southerly storm or violent storm is expected later today and tomorrow, with very strong wind gusts, widely 35 – 45 m/s and especially near mountains, but locally exceeding 50 m/s. Red warnings take effect this afternoon, 5 February
Red weather warnings for severe winds and intense rainfall will take effect this afternoon. People are urged to secure loose objects and exercise caution. Travel is not advised while the warnings are in effect.
Winds will slightly ease overnight but will intensify again to a southerly storm on the morning of 6 February, continuing with heavy rain. Gradually, wind and precipitation will subside, starting in the western regions. Later in the day, a strong south-westerly wind is expected, with decreasing temperatures and snow showers.
