On Thursday, August 20, the ground-based interferometric radar (GB-InSAR) located in Vestdalur was moved to Eskifjörður as part of routine annual monitoring. This relocation is carried out to optimize the instrument's use in the area and is timed for this season due to favorable conditions—specifically regarding vegetation cover. The instrument has now been returned to its location in Vestdalur, Seyðisfjörður. It measures surface changes on Strandartindur and the outer section of Neðri-Botnar.
